Connect Her
Connect Her is a transformative 6-week programme created to empower young girls and women by fostering a deeper connection with themselves and the digital world, providing them with not only the knowledge to use it but their very own laptop to keep at the end of the programme. Participants will receive digital equipment and essential training to build their skills and confidence. The programme also introduces structured online learning, with a focus on key areas such as mental health, resilience, and effective crisis self-management, ensuring a well-rounded and supportive experience.
During our six-week programme each person will unbox and set up a brand-new chrome book.
Digital Learning Objectives
Setup up, security and storage of your device.
Connecting and staying safe online.
Setting up digital communication channels with email and social media.
Presenting yourself and communicating online appropriately.
Developing Microsoft skills with word and excel including creating a covering letter, budgeting tool and personal diary/organiser with a to-do list.
Each candidate will also be supported to create a CV.
An introduction to Job searching online.
An introduction to digital creativity and design by registering for a free Canva account.
In addition to the above we also want to unlock a level of confidence and potential for the women to grow and progress independently after the program, that is structured group online learning. We will provide one hour per week of supported online learning via zoom/teams. We will deliver a CPD accredited mental resilience course The Personal Power and Pride Program.

To understand our Negative Thinking
To understand why we keep doing what we do
To understand the process of how to start changing our behaviours
To understand the triggers that set us off to behave in certain ways
To become more aware of the clues our body gives us, to let us know we are entering the fight or flight response
To understand how our brain works at times of stress
You will be introduced to Transactional Analysis so that you understand yourself, others and relationships better.
You will be given a simple and clear plan of action of what to do and when, to tackle Stress and Anxiety differently, so that you can learn to be the boss of it and not the other way around.
Information about how to sleep better and understand depression can be supplied if requested.

You will learn how to become more self-aware, so that you can be in control of your emotions, faster.
You will learn several techniques on how to bring yourself back under your control using e.g. Breathwork / Mindfulness / EMDR / CBT to name a few.
You will learn discrete anxiety management skills so you can manage yourself anywhere and with anyone, even whilst having the difficult conversations.
You will learn the skill of analysing yourself in a more structured way, to identify your difficulties, and work towards developing a plan of what you need to do to feel better.
You will learn about Assertiveness, assertive responses, and how to become more assertive when it counts.
You will learn how to build your confidence, to be able to manage difficult situations in future.
You will learn the importance of having reminders for when we lapse, and be given an example, so that you can develop your own one that works for you.

You will be supported to develop different / more useful perspectives, so that you can begin to believe in yourself and that you can manage stress and anxiety better.
You will learn to be kinder to yourself and why this is important.
You will learn that you are not a failure if you lapse, and that it is a normal part of behavioural change and how to look at this more positively.
You will learn to be more self-reliant for your happiness and be proud of your achievements.
You will learn the attitudes you need to develop within yourself, to manage anxiety and stress better.
In summary, the Connect Her project will empower a group of 10 women by providing them with their own laptops, granting long-term access without restrictions on time or location. Participants will develop the essential skills needed to use these tools confidently, competently, and safely.
Furthermore, the programme will introduce participants to online learning, where they will earn accreditation for overcoming mental and behavioural challenges when navigating obstacles in the digital space.
